5 Simple Tips To Protect Your Facebook Account From Hackers
The problem of Facebook account hacking is increasing day by day. The Facebook is not just a social media platform which allows you to interact with your family and friends, but it is also a place where you do your business. You invest a lot of money on creating and promoting your brand pages and then you hope that you will get some good visitors to your online store from that brand page.
You can also sell a lot of products online using Facebook pages and groups. So your account is important for you and you should take some steps to secure your Facebook account.
Here are 5 simple tips that can protect your Facebook account from hackers:
Choose a Password that is not Easy to Guess
Most of the accounts are hacked just because their password is too easy to guess. Like many people select a password on the name of their spouse, boyfriend or girl friend, kids, date of birth, phone number, the registration number of their car or something like this which any one can guess with hit and trial method.
You should choose a password with mix alphabets having lower case and upper case alphabets. Then your password must have some numbers as well and special character makes your pas$sword more difficult to guess.
For example, if your password is ‘aslam123‘, it is easy to guess. But if you choose almost the same password with little changes like “aSlaM12%3$“, then this password is too difficult to guess by anyone.
Always Type Facebook.com in URL Bar to avoid Phishing
Phishing is a method of hacking in which hackers force the user to type their password on a wrong page. They show you that the page on which you are going to enter the password is original facebook page, but actually, it is not. For example, if you get a message in your inbox from a person who said that click on the address below to enjoy free Facebook on a mobile phone forever then don’t click on that.
If you click on that address, it will open a web page which looks like exactly the Facebook page, but the address bar will have some wrong URL like free-facebook.com or faceboook.com which is not the official URL of Facebook. If you open that address and type your email and password there, the hacker will get the information you entered via email and then he can login into your Facebook account and can change your details and password.
Don’t Save Password on Stranger’s Computer or Laptop
When you sign in to your Facebook account, your browser will ask you to save password if you are logging in for the first time on that computer or laptop. If you are using your Facebook account on a stranger’s computer then never save your password otherwise anyone will be able to check your saved password and can change that easily.
Turn on Mobile Notification for Unauthorized Access
Turn on mobile notifications so that if someone has tried to access your password you will get a notification on your mobile. In that case, you can change your password immediately.
Add Extra Layer of Security
From settings tabs, go to security and enable the extra security layers. If you enable it, no one will be able to login to your Facebook account even if the hacker hacks your password. When you log in to your own computer or mobile, you can easily log in. But when you or some other person try to log in on a new computer or new mobile device with same details, Facebook will send a security pin to your mobile number. You have to enter that security pin to Facebook site and then Facebook will allow you to login to your account.
In this way, even if a hacker has your password, Facebook will send the security pin on your mobile number, and the hacker will not get that security pin so he will not be able to login to your account.
You must change your password for at least after every two months. Or when you type your Facebook Password and you feel that some other person is starring on your keyboard or keypad, you must change your password immediately.
If you follow these tips, no one can hack your Facebook account password. Even professional hackers will not be able to login to your account even if they hack your password, your Facebook account will be secure with the extra layer of security.
