Pakistan’s inflation on the spike says Finance minister
ISLAMABAD: On Thursday’s latest announcement, inflation is expected to surge a bit more this month nationwide as food prices increase. The Ministry of Finance just updated its Monthly Economic Outlook report for January 2022 and it’s disappointing to depict that inflation will continue to accelerate this month.
According to the local sources, the number of inflation might rise to 13% for upcoming time as per monthly official report which is a bit higher than 12.3% for December, highly recorded for about the past 2 years.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin suggested it might get a rise for about 2 to 3 months. It clearly shows that the present government and administration are unable to cope with it and couldn’t provide public relief.
Basic amenities of life are out of the reach for localities and they are highly disappointed. Even local vendors are selling basic commodities at their ask price.
The Finance Ministry seems to blame various environmental and external factors, I.e trade balance, new variant pandemic for the spike of global inflation.
